On tap at Madtree tap room, poured into snifter.
Pours black with a thick dark khaki head. On the nose you get tons of vanilla, oak, espresso, and some mild chocolate. Bourbon notes are very strong throughout. The taste is very similar, loads of creamy vanilla on the front of the tongue. Mid palate you get roasted espresso, turning into bitter chocolate in the back. Thick full bodied mouthfeel, zero alcohol burn. This is a very solid barrel aged stout. If your a fan of the style, this will not let you down.

Just recently tried the regular, and barrel aged versions of this American super stout (best A.S.S. in town!) today at the madtree tap house. Great stuff. What more should I say? Other than the fact that the style remains true to a barrel aged Russian imperial stout. Lots of malt, along with great chocolate and coffee aromas and flavors made this a great beer. Pretty sweet. Could probably only have one before switching to a lighter brew, but man, keep these barrel aged varieties coming, madtree! Ill be back for more
