Rusty brown color in the 12 oz shaker with a modest head. Prickly on the tongue, but coarse carbonation. Watery body. Thoroughly refreshing.
Some malty sweetness but quite light. Just a little roast barley and almost an acidic edge. The hoppy bitterness takes over for the aftertaste. A sourish hint in the finish, like there is something burnt in the mix. Oddly this is so less dark than most Stouts. It taste more like a dark lager, though quite drinkable.
On tap at the Baranof Island brewpub in Sitka.
