Few know of the bitter forces that lay hidden in the pages of the Hopcronomicon. Fewer still can read its cryptic and citrusy recipes. Those who can are driven mad by alpha acids. For it was written by those who live in the shadows of our fermenters. They wait in slumber for their time to return and consume the world. They wish to return us to the black beyond the pale... ale.
Bursting with tropical, citrusy hops and a touch of biscuity malt, this year-round IPA balances pineapple and melon aromas with a hint of pine.
IBU: 75

12 oz can stamped date smudged into a Becher glass.
L: Pours clear medium light gold color with a big 1.5" rocky off white head, medium steady carbo, requires multiple pours, head gets a cap, medium complex lacing.
S: Pine, citrus zest, fruit bread, caramel malts.
T: Sweet resinous hops, caramelized malts, citrus zest, light melon, a hint of grapefruit, hard candy, it has a piney and zesty finish and aftertaste.
F: Brisk then smooth medium to medium-light bodied feel with a medium-long moderately dry finish.
O: A great tasting and well balanced IPA with malts just beneath pine resin hop notes. It is a bit fruity, a little bitter, and drinks quite easily. It is very good in its style.

Served on tap in a shaker pint at The Blue Door Pub.
A: Slightly hazy golden hue with 1-finger off-white frothy head with excellent retention and thick bands of lacing.
S: Aroma is a bit on the lighter side with grapefruit and tangerine and pale malt. Light floral ester.
T: Flavor is old-school WCIPA with tons of resiny bitterness mixed with grapefruit, tangerine, and orange with a distinct tea-like herbal note in the finish and aftertaste. Bitterness is moderate-high.
M: Medium-bodied with high, cleansing carbonation and dry finish.
O: Solid WCIPA in the old-school mode.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped '#679 CANNED ON 01/11/23'.
Brilliantly clear, pale gold colored body. One finger of white head, which retreats to lumpy islands and ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma of toasted malt base and melon and tropical hops.
Taste is pineapple and orange hops with biscuit malts. Melon and pine mix in. Some sweetness with slight bitterness balance. Orange, pineapple, and toasted malts in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Ultimately dry with an intermediate stickiness. Good carbonation.
Well done IPA with pleasure inducing nose and flavors. Totally clear body appearance is seldom seen right now.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 12/3/21, so 7 months old.
Looks very good. Slightly hazy amber body with a generous bright white head which leaves a film of lacing.
Surprised to detect some fruity hop notes on the nose.
On tasting, hops have definitely faded, but still a prescence. This allows the malt base to shine. It's quite sweet, and boozier than the abv would suggest.
Mouth closer to full, finish sweet with a light burn.
Overall, certainly a long way from the beer it was 4 months ago, but as it stands, a decent tasting drink.

Enjoyed in a 16oz snifter on 7/22/21, canned on 3/26/2021.
A: Pours a medium golden color with very little foam or lacing along the side of the glass. Translucent with very little haze if any.
S: Subtle nose with notes of melon and tangerine. Other citrus notes of grapefruit and orange rind are present, but certainly more bitter than juicy and sweet. Some pine and resin that are present, caramel malt is dominant and very pleasant. Nose is pleasant but nothing to write home about
T: Bitter hops up front with subtle hints of tangerine and other stone fruit. Pine and resin are present with some grapefruit bitterness as well. Very well balanced by a complex malt backbone. Overall solid beer, refreshing and enjoyable
F: Ultimately very smooth and the 7% abv is well hidden. Minimal carbonation which helps bring out the malt character.
Overall: A solid beer and enjoyable to drink. Very well balanced and the malt really takes the cake while the hops play a little more of a supporting role. Certainly would buy again!

Hopcromancer pours a hazy golden color, with a small, but long lasting head. Aggressive earthy hop aroma, with hints of tropical fruit. Flavor is very divided, sweet, melon flavors, and tropical fruit notes, with an aggressive earthy hop bitter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, its like a mix between a hazy and more traditional IPA, unique and worth a try.

This beer pours as a very golden body with a copper tint and a very THICC head (based on the nitro pour available at the brewery).
The aroma contains strong tones of pine with fresh notes of spring melon.
The flavor is a very fresh and tropical IPA, with strong pine afternotes.
This beer does have the lingering IPA-mouthfeel.
This beer does go down pretty good!

Appearance: Pours a clear, caramely, copper-orange color with a touch off-white head. SRM of 10-11. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of dark, tropical pineapple, citrus, guava. More pine tree and pineapple. Even some tropical flower. It's tropical phenols all the way. Pineapple, citrus, guava, mango, kiwi, lime & melon. A dense tropical bouquet.. Very juicy and difficult to detect the malts. (4.00)
Flavor: Follows the nose. Same hops flavors of tropical and prehistoric pineapple, mango, ripe citrus, melon. A little pine. Then a sweet and caramel, white-bread sweetness on the back-end. Also some ripe citrus and honey sweetness. A very distinct amount of phenols, which I actually like in this tropical setting. Finishes very phenolic and slightly sweet. (4.00)
Feel: Heavier-bodied. Mild carbonation. Heavier and nectar-like. A sweetness lingers on the tongue. (3.50)
Compared w/ Summit Brewing Twenty-One iPA 3/28/20: Pours a much darker color. Stronger and heavier tropical aromas. Drinks more like nectar rather than juice. Less airy flower/pine. More deep and sweet tropical nectar.
Compared to Fulton 300 IPA 10/1/20: Pours a darker, clearer color. Milder aromas. More melon and tropical flavors.
Overall: A pretty good IPA. Extremely phenolic, which actually supports the fruity flavor. Nothing spectacular. I have a hard time picking up the English malts in here. Maybe a little honey. It's good nonetheless. Leans slightly sweet and an excellent northern midwest IPA. Classic for the style. (Final Rating: 3.90)
