these guys literally just released this, one of their first sour types from what i understand, and thats the only part i have any issue with at all. the coriander and salt are right there, the wheat base is fuller and very fresh, and the balance is there, even the fermentation is dialed in, this is nice and dry and classic, but its the souring part that seems to need a little work. it smells a bit cheesy and weird, sweaty, maybe too hot, tannic, and funky not clean. the flavor is like that too, and while there are some of the desirable aspects too, lemony brightness and the right amount of acidity, the undesirable parts of it come close to ruining the beer for me. if everything else wasnt so right on, this would be pretty yucky, but they have a great base here. i think they will get it cleaned up, maybe it already is cleaned up and it was just too new when i was there. i think with everyone getting on the sour train, especially the kettle sours, there are bound to be some average and even poor beers out there. this is still amateurish, a work in progress i am sure...
