Not sure about in the past but my guess is that this is their annual fall wet-hop beer. Anyway, that’s the deal in 2021, and the hops are chinook this year…a favorite for me. Pours a clear amber, not much head, and minimal lacing. Very wet and worty nose. Taste is overripe tropical fruit, breadfruit malt….lots of flavor here, and it doesn’t go off in a wrong direction: not too sweet, e.g., not under-attenuated, etc. So…we’ll made. Maybe just a hint of the spicy notes I look for in chinook hops, but it is minimal. Pretty substantial body, not too lively a mouthful, and not much bitterness. Maybe a little more sticky and oily than one would expect from an ordinary ipa. Good, but not quite great from my perspective. But def worth a shot.

Smells and tastes like a Cascade hop IPA (albeit a very fresh one), with grapefruit, orange and hints of pine. Caramel malts backbone provides balance.
