2024 Update: Similar ...not as rich in the maltiness .dropping scores a bit.
Original score (2022)=4.5
Clean clear amber color...if smelling blind I'd peg this as out of Germany...
Extremely well made maibock...double decoction gives this the rich rounded maltiness you'd want in this style...malts lean toasted....but rich....hops are minimal but definitely keep this balanced....I love maibocks and this is a quality one.
I highly appreciate breweries making the effort to produce beers like this rather than (or in addition) to the latest fad or top selling styles...

Not too sweet and not very hoppy, at all, this one has a fairly substantial body and is very bready, with a little hint of herbal hops on the nose and some nice lager yeast on the tongue. The carbonation might be a little low for the style. The lager yeast comes out nicely. I don't know..initially I thought this was fairly nondescript, but it kind of grew on me...all in, it doesn't jump out at you, but it is well-crafted.
