Very Good
Notes: Freshly ground coffee pairs with chocolate and vanilla beans for an intensely rich flavor. Made from a rediscovered recipe designed by our co-founder's father Greg Carpenter, we now brew it in his memory. Raise your glass to him and those gone by never forgotten.

16oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'CANNED ON 12/29/20'.
Clear, pale amber colored body. One finger of egg shell white head. Some trailing tendrils of lacing.
Aroma is rich infused dark roast coffee, with a little chocolate, and a touch of sweeter vanilla.
Taste is roasted malts, with a quick entry by the coffee, chocolate, and vanilla flavors. Coffee is most expressive but the chocolate and vanilla are balancing flavors. After taste is a sweetened dark roast coffee.
Has a fuller mouth feel. Very good carbonation. Works well as a sipper.
This is really a pleasant surprise. Like a honey infused coffee and chocolate latte or candy bar. Has sweetness but not too much. One must like coffee to appreciate the blend of expressions. Purchased as a single but would buy more to fit into the rotation.

Appearance: Pours a slightly clouded (50%), medium, but bright orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 12. Does not look like a stout at all. (3.75)

Aroma: Upfront, strong coffee roast aromas. Some mocha and cocoa underneath, but extremely roasty. Mostly coffee grounds.

Flavor: The flavor follows with tons of coffee roast upfront. Lots of coffee roast. A pronounced bitterness in the front and through the middle. Then some mild cocoa and mocha flavors come through with a light cream malt underneath. Still, finishes roasty though from the bitter coffee roast in the front.

Feel: Extremely biting and bitter upfront from the coffee roast. Moderate carbonation. Eventually the roast evolves into a cream flavor.

Compared to Central Waters' Satin Solitude 2/5/21: Pours a much lighter color as expected. Much more coffee roast. Less chocolate and cream. Less malty and dryer. Stronger coffe roast.

Overall: Not quite was I expected, although I shouldn't have known what to expect for a white stout. This one hits huge upfront with coffee roast. So much that you think you might have ingested coffee grounds at first. Before you spit it out though, A slight cream flavor comes through. However, it's not enough to clean off the coffee roast and I'm left with a coffee grounds flavor left on my tongue. A quite remarkable light orange color as promised for the white stout. Overall, this does not fit the bill for me, and I don't know if I can finish the whole beer on this one. Too much coffee roast/grounds and unpleasant. (Final Rating: 3.28)

This beer pours as a light golden brown with a nice tan head.

The aroma is that of a freshly poured latte.

The taste reflects the aroma, but with notes of sweet chocolate.

For a stout, this beer is very easy to drink.

It goes down pretty good!

Pours a mostly clear golden color. Smell of vanilla, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste followed nose with hints of coffee. A white stout a little thin for the style but tasty.

Poured from 16 oz can into shaker pint glass. 7.5% ABV.
A: Definitely a white stout. Pours a clear golden hue with 1/2 inch white bubbly head with decent retention.
S: Smells like a stout! Caramel and chocolate malts, vanilla, and a hint of espresso and cream.
T: Sweet caramel malt and vanilla hit first, followed by smooth chocolate, cream, and a hint of espresso.
M: Light-medium body. Smooth and slightly oily feel. Quite sweet! Good balance and nice lingering on the palate.
D: Definitely an interesting brew and worth a go! Close your eyes, smell and taste the beer, then be very surprised when you look at it! Not complex, but the flavors are nice and strong and well balanced.

This beer pours a clear gold with a large head. The aroma is.. well, it is roasty and dark, like a stout. Notes of medium roast coffee, dark toast, cinnamon, and toasted walnut are present. The flavor is much lighter, with notes of golden syrup, medium roast coffee, toast, and cumin. The mouthfeel is fairly full with voluminous foaming carbonation. Overall this is a really interesting beer, and one that does a good job defying categorization. I see why the term white stout is used, as it does have many stout like qualities, and blindfolded one may well call it that. Interesting and nice beer.

Poured from a 16 ounce can that reads 7.5% as opposed to the 6.7 listed here. Pours a clear light honey yellow with a huge white pillow of a head that recedes gradually leaving a fair amount of lacing. Aroma is faint coffee and vanilla. Flavor is more prominent with chocolate leading the way with the coffee in the back seat. Feel is light to medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall a fine beer worth trying if you see it.
