This is a really delicious IPA with lots of huge and juicy citrusy and tropical hop aromas and flavours. Pours a slightly hazy apricot colour with a half inch of head and nice lacing. Smells of citrus and pineapple. Tastes like a Lemonheads candy. Seriously. Low bitterness for such a hoppy IPA. Nicely done.

From the Brew Box, Bucky received a 650 ml bottle of Grandstand Hoppy Wheat produced by the Left Field Brewery of Toronto, Ontario. Packaged on November 18, 2015 and 5.5% ABV with 40 IBUs.
Grandstand poured a slightly cloudy yellow/orange color with plenty of visible carbonation bubbles. The beer was topped by a generous 2” off-white head that eventually faded to a collar and cap of foam leaving considerable lacing down the glass. Its aroma was dominated by grapefruit, with notes of caramel, pineapple, lemon and pine. Pretty good so far. The taste was a mix of grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, mango and caramel, with a bitter piney finish. The bitterness lingers on the palate for quite some time, but there is a decent balance between the sweet and bitter to this beer so that the bitterness is not overwhelming. Grandstand is light bodied with a fairly light carbonation and dry mouthfeel. Bucky’s first experience with Left Field Brewing, and we’ll call it a good one. A bottle of their Maris Pale Ale sits in Bucky’s fridge, so looking forward to giving that one a try.

500ml bottle from brewery.
Bright golden straw with full slowly dissipating head. Strong citrus aromas. Grapefruit and other citrus in the flavour. Bright bitterness. This reads more like an IPA on the tongue than your average wheat beer. Enjoyable.

Classic C-hop flavours in this beer. Grapefruit really jumps out. Moderately bitter. The wheat provides a bit of a crisp backbone, though the hops are the most prominent flavour. Not a huge shift from an APA or IPA with barley rather than wheat.
