This is a variant of Left Field's Blackburne Imperial Stout that I purchased as a 355ml can in a 4pk for around $16 CAD. It is brewed with bitter cocoa nibs, cinnamon spice, creamy vanilla and smoky chipotle peppers in the usual Blackburne recipe and clocks in just shy of 10% ABV.
Colour: Jet black with a solid foamy head.
Nose: Mildly spicy with chili flakes, cocoa powder, vanilla pudding, oak and roasted malt
Palate: Soft and smooth mouthfeel with whiffs of chili oil, dark chocolate, vanilla cream, rich cereals, pencil shavings and hard toffee with a medium finish of burnt toast, chili powder and cinnamon
Quite a unique spiced stout indeed! Not as abrasive as a similar "chili" stout I had from Evil Twin a long time ago. This one mixes comfortably in with the malt and cocoa and sessions quite nicely for the proof! Very good!
