I got a decided vein of melon on the nose, alongside some herbal notes and perhaps light pine. Palate is fairly soft, suitably juicy, more light melon and other notes caught on the nose. Really enjoyable single hop beer.

Growler to pint glass
Straight copper-tan color, clear. Half-inch head leaves little patches of lacing.
Honey-tropical-caramel nose, vintage-Alpine. There's a distinct nutty undertone, pecan-like.
Hop-forward, but fruity, tropical. The nutty pecan note in the nose comes through, backed by caramelly malts. With a touch of grapefruity citrus and a light-bodied mouthfeel, this is really easy to throw back. Short, clean finish with little lingering residuals.
So far Alpine has been nailing this single-hopped brews, especially given they're showcasing experimental hops no one has heard of

Had never heard of Idaho 7 hops, so I was excited to get a chance to try them. Pretty optimistic that it’s going to be good, not Mosaic good, but good.
Poured a golden, pale, clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head when I got it. Light bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent spiderweb lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled dank resin, lime, hints of Cascade, pine and skunk. (Smell - 3.25)
Tasted better than the nose, but still similar. Got skunky resin, dry Cascade, pine and earthy mango rind. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Well turns out I do not like Idaho 7 hops. At least I don’t like them by itself. I think they need some partners. (Overall - 3.50)
