Misc.: Originally released in June 2016
Wasn’t familiar with Azacca hops, so I was looking forward to it. Not a lot of high hopes, though, as most of these in the Single Hop series need some help.
Poured a golden, pale, mostly clear color with two fingers of frothy white head when I got it. A few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding spiderweb lacing. Good-to-very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
First whiff was tropical and resin, specifically getting stone fruit, orange rind, mango, skunky resin, light vomit, spoiled fruit and grassy notes. Got worse with each sniff. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted tropical more than resin. Got stone fruit, bitter mango rind, citrus zest, spoiled orange peel, bitter wood and resin late. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Astringent finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was decent, but probably overrated it a tad. Maybe I’m just not an Azacca fan. (Overall - 3.75)
