This West Coast Style IPA features our hop of choice (which will rotate every month). One single hop that we utilize to the max. This is our single hop series and this month (May 2017) we are featuring Hallertau Blanc hops.

Single hopped IPA more in the spirit of experimentation than the pursuit of well balanced, drinkble beer. Worthy of a try, maybe just once.

Had been hit and miss on this series so far with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe leading the way. Had heard of Hallertau Blanc and had it in a beer before, but probably could not pick it out separate in a beer. Was looking forward to it.
Poured a pale-to-gold color with two fingers of frothy off-white head when I got it. Some bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent sporadic lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled lemongrass, white grape, lactose, white grapefruit, herbal, citrus zest and lingering white pepper. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste followed the nose for the most part. Got white grape, white grapefruit, herbal, hints of menthol, lemongrass white pepper, dry pineapple and citrus zest. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This was good overall. Not sure I’d want to try this hop alone again though. (Overall - 3.50)
