On tap at The Craft Beer Co.,Covent Garden London, England.
Pours a super dark brown/black with a thick tan head. Lots of sticky lasting lacing.
A big toffee/ coffee butterscotch nose
Taste as the nose and very smooth, the ABV is well hidden.
One of the best Russian Imperial Stouts.

Pours black, with a dense, brown head. Smell of roasty, rich coffee, no greenness. Great thickness, smooth. Taste is very well balanced between sweet creamyness and bitter roast. Lots of coffee, bunch of chocolate, lovely vanilla. Delicious beer, great.

Pours black with a small mocha head, quick to a thick long-lasting lacing.
Smells of rich black coffee and milk, strong cocoa, roasted (almost burnt) malts, extra roasted coffee bean, toasted toffee, woody cinnamon, bit of nut, burnt (really burnt) sugar. Intense, kinda heavy on the nose.
Lots of rich dark chocolate, with bits of raisin and dried fig, little splash of plum/dark grape juice. Spices up front too, mostly the dark variety (cinnamon, touch of nutmeg, big dark licorice, bit of clove, faint anise) and nice vanilla. Gets somewhat roastier, but still sweet: some dark bread, some walnut, sweet black coffee, sugared. Finish isn't ashy, still retaining that dark fruit character, tho with some duty cocoa powder, some clearer coffee bean and a bit of burnt cereal.
Aftertaste has some chocolate, faint roast, some dark fruit, and doesn't last too long. Medium body, low carbonated, almost smooth. Alcohol hidden entirely.
Huge difference between the smell and the taste, the first one rich and roasty, the second one zingy, tasty, but lacking intensity. Still a really nice brewski, maybe for a .. lighter kind of breakfast.

330ml bottle bought from Lighthouse Wines, Jordanstown...
Poured pretty much pitch black even when held up to the light... Dirty burnt brown head poured thick and foamy then faded fairly quickly to decent thickish covering.. lots of patchy sticky lacing...
Aroma - Roasted chocolate maltiness, strong charred coffee beans, leathery and slightly sooty, toasted bread, burnt toffee, treacle, earthy / cardboard hints, roasted nuts, some sticky plum fruitiness, black cherries, some alcohol just noticeable...
Taste - Lots of charred roasted dark chocolate malt bitterness, sooty, some piney hops, very earthy, strong espresso coffee, dried coffee grains, toasted nutty sweetness, some treacle, faint anise...
Feel - Smooth initially then a spritzy sharpness come through... full bodied... fairly drinkable for a 10% brew...
Overall - A pretty good Impy stout... definitely worth a try...

Very nice looking stout. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma but also some fruitiness. Taste follows the nose but with less fruit and more chocolate. Very well made beer.

On draft, pours a dark brown, pretty much opaque black, light brown head, very fluffy and full, great carbonation.
The nose is lots of roast, oats, little of chocolate, vanilla, some coffee and faint char. The flavor is very roasty, toast, oats, bitter coffee grounds, bitter dark chocolate, sweet powdered cocoa finish. This is really nice, well balanced, smooth and enjoyable. The alcohol is completely hidden which is dangerous!
