Based out in Ohio, Jackie O's Pub & Brewery are famed for their work with Dark Ales. Quadrophenia uses a varied malt base pitching it somewhere between a Strong Porter and a Belgian Quad. Belgian Candy Sugar and High Gravity Trappist Yeast form a delicious deep, rich dark and fruity ale.

From a growler via Eightball Brewing in Ky. enjoyed in a snifter.

This beastly little brew pours a lightly murky dark blackish brown with a
modest head of off white foam that subsides to a thin ring, wispy pool,
and features subtle light lacing. Nose of toffee, brown sugars, raisins,
light brandy and rum notes, and subtle dark fruits. Flavors lightly exceed the
nose with dark brown sugar and toffee notes tossed into a light rum note from the
brown sugars that mingle with raisins, currants, and a subtle herbal hop that sears
in with warming booze. Excellent mouth feel, smooth, warming, rich, low carbonation,
and sweet on the finish without being overly cloying.

A nice little collaboration that I am glad to have had the opportunity to try.

Very nice

Cheers

Very dark brown, almost black colour. Very syrupy sweet aromas of black treacle with a roasted malt back. Tastes very syrupy and heavy; has sweet roasted malts throughout with nutty finish. Surprisingly drinkable and easygoing for the ABV.

Pours dark brown with a thick head which dissipates quickly. Raisins and spices on the nose. Sweet and fruity, spices, alcohol. Spicy finish with a peppery bitter end note. Slight linger.

Dark, dark, dark. Not much more than roasted malt in the aroma, and the flavor is more porter than quad with chocolate and some coffee. As it warms, a hint of raisin. Very nice collab with Jackie O!

330ml bottle bought from Lighthouse Wines, Jordanstown

Poured a deep burgundy red / brown colour with a slight haze... Creamy tan head poured quite foamy but faded very quickly to thin covering with thick edging... fair amount of carbonation bubbles... light patchy lacing...

Aroma - Dark spicy fruits (raisins, prunes, some blackcurrents), strong toasted toffee maltiness, some molasses notes, caramel, light aniseed hints, some light rum traces, vanilla, some nuttiness, peppery hops...

Taste - Sweet and spicy fruits (definite raisins and prunes, spicy apples, some figs and blackcurrents), brown sugar / toffee sweetness, milk chocolate, toasted bready maltiness, strong Belgian yeastiness, light herbal notes, nice warming alcohol, liquorice hints, spicy hops...

Feel - Quite sharp and dry then some smoothness coming through after.. Medium / full bodied... Pretty drinkable considering the strength...

Overall - An excellent quad from Siren... definitely recommended..
