A: Very dark brown, almost black. large fizzy head which fades to nothing very fast. The pour is not really viscous and looks a bit thin.
S: Smell is very complex with notes of coffee, roasted malt, leather, vanilla, milk chocolate, bourbon, cherries, dark fruits, toffee and molasses. Quite sweet also. Despite the complexity, all those aromas do not match very well together. There is also something green and medicinal in the nose like green apple or white pepper which is a little bit disturbing. Alcohol is light but present.
T: The taste mainly follows the nose with a strange mix of bad whiskey and burnt coffee, an additional tartness from the cherries and a little bit of cloying soy sauce. Not very pleasant but still drinkable.
M: Almost no carbonation. Light to medium bodied. Far to thin for the style.
O: Given what Siren is able to brew, this one is very disappointing. It is not extremely bad but not pleasant either. It was also very expensive so I'll surely not have it again.
