Tastes like nothing. Smells like split pea soup cut with sticky toffee pudding. Not my vibe.

On tap at the HotD 25th.
Darker in color than the Montreal version. Less spice with more caramel and toffee. The palate has caramel, buckwheat honey, clove and white pepper, touch of fennel. Sweet but rather disjointed. Medium full in body, this is sweet on the finish.

Dark amber; honey, spice, harb, and slight paper; candy sweet white bread, sultana, toffee, spice cake + tight finish.

Almost like mead on the nose. Plays as much like a barleywine as a blonde. No burn, but could use something to tone down the sweetness. Wanting, compare to expectations for anything with HotD on the label.

330ml bottle. Pours a burnished orange with a fizzy, off-white head that quickly dissipates into a skim. Nose expresses ethanol and candied fruits. Taste follows nose - hints of toffee with some medicinal notes at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an assertive carbonation and a slightly oily texture. Overall, malty, boozy and typical of the style but not particularly memorable.
