We cold-steeped grains overnight before brewday to build up a gorgeous chocolatey base for this rich, comforting porter. From there, roasty notes are layered amongst subtle smoke, coffee and hints of dark chocolate. Nitro Coldblooded pours outrageously smooth and drinks with a satisfying richness.

Pours night black in color with a beige spongy head.

Smells of roasted coffee beans with a fruity, nutty complexity to it, complimented by scorched malts and dried earth.

Has a fantastic silk and smooth mouthfeel which gets enriched by a finely nuanced level of carbonation, making this quite refreshing.

Tastes of whipped cream covered coffee together with s spoon full of rock sugar, bitter chocolate and lighter molasses. Turns sweeter then with hints of milk chocolate, toasted nuts and burned blueberry bush. Finishes smooth and creamy with a lingering roastiness and bitter chocolate among lighter nuts and honey.

Another great nitro offering, which showcases a well balanced porter, benefiting from a world class mouthfeel.

440 ml can, from Être Gourmet, Belgium. ABV is 5.0%. Very dark brown to black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, chocolate and mild coffee, some vinous hints too, a faint hint of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly on the dry side, again with notes of roast malts, chocolate and mild coffee, a certain fruitiness of dark fruits (prunes, blackberries) makes the beer very drinkable, noticeable bittering hops in the finish. Easy drinking, enjoyable.

Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Very black. 5mm pale tan foamy head. Holds pretty well (@+15mins).
S- Coffee and log fireplaces.
T- Big coffee, toasty, charry
F- It walks a middle path. Neither rich nor dry, satisfying yet sessionable if you're into quite big relatively pungent black beer,
O- I imagine the baseline here is quite trad for a porter, the end recipe being the notably amped up smoke and charring.
