330ml bottle poured into Tulip glass.
L: fairly clear slightly bronze straw colour, pours 1/4 inch barely off-white sticky head. Just a few bubbles rising.
S; Helles Bock/Maibock like background, subtle ground coffee aroma. Most forward is Amaretti and Savoiardi biscuits/tiramisu boozyness, they do recommend Biscotti with it after all. Very slight grassy edge in there somewhere from the hops.
T: like regular pale ale at the very first, then the Affogato, Italian desert biscuits and vanilla ice-cream comes in. That stays in the initial aftertaste, the lasting aftertaste is much like a malty Helles Bock/Maibock. That said there's no real noticable diacetyl.
F; smooth and minimal effervescence, quite sticky.
O; It's certainly what it sets out to be, pretty surprising as you expect this to be based on a much darker style! A little sickly for my taste, but it was better at its coldest right out of the fridge.
