L- Even held in front of a halogen bulb not a photon gets through this glass of beer, it's jat black. Pours with 2mm dark tan head. After pouring there's accreted sediment left on the bottom of the bottle.
S- I'm very congested this pm but I still get huge whisky from this, and also notes of timber from the barrels. Oh and cocoa!
T- Whisky, some rum, raisons - it honestly reminds me very much of old time Rum'nRaison ice cream. I get timber notes coming through here too. The flavour is opening up progressively as it warms up from being pretty well chilled to start.
F- Rich but hugely pungent too, which maybe kinda balances out the richness?
O- This is the kind of beer I might occasionally enjoy slow-sipping with dessert. Perhaps as a treat, like a dessert wine, with Xmas pudding? It's seriously full-on so I can't imagine wishing to drink more than one at a session. In fact I reckon 2-3 friends could happily share one bottle and get the entire experience from just that - it's not backwards in coming forwards this one!
Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a pick-your-own mixed case for home delivery to London. Expensive at £9.75/350ml but then that's what Siren beers cost. Bottled: 10/08/2020. BB: not marked, but of less consequence at this ABV.
