I'd only prised open a narrow section of the cap, cap was still firmly in place, when from 30Cm away I got a clear waft of cocoa... nice!
L- The beer is viscous (thick) so the pour is silent and curiously it didn't splash at all so hard to raise the pour at the end and encourage some glass topping foam. Hence, inky black and just a minor little patch of dark tan foam on the surface.
S- Coffee, minor cocoa and liquor - whisky I think.
T- Wooooooah. Take the Smell^ them amp it up BIG-time. The coffee/cocoa aspects seem to morph into a whole for me so whilst it's pungent it's not OTT on either side. The liquor barrel note is absolutely thumping on my palate, no one on earth would have a problem observing it.
F- Vastly big yet curiously not OTT. That said it's certainly a slow-sipping beer, very slow, it's way too full-on to take otherwise. In fact I'd suggest this might be worth sharing as suddenly my 375ml glass full is feeling like a way to go...
O- Well Siren have succeeded again in producing a completely full-on beer. I'd suggest starting this one off well chilled as it's very slow going, and is evolving as it warms. Interesting to try but somewhat OTT for me to wish to buy again.
Bottled Nov/2020 and no BB date. 375ml bottle. £9.75 Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
