Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country...
L- Black to the nakes eye, but ultra-deep ruby red when held in front of a halogen bulb. Pours clear with a 3mm mid-tan fine-bubble creamy looking head.
S- Maybe my nose if having a bad day as this seems very mild to me, I just get some light toasty notes.
T- it has a deep, pungent, rich + ABV note right on the front. Into the finish it's moderately dry, and a deep-roasted aspect arises right at the end. [My nose must be off not to get more from this earlier]. The 'deep+pungent' is very deeply roasted, it might have a coffee aspect within it.
F- A pungent, slow-sipper of a beer for me. Feels quite full on - guessing 8%+ - yet it's not in your face.
O- Would pair well with a slab of ribs or BBQ cook-up. Bold enough to stand up to those flavours. Lovely beer, 2 thumbs up.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! Ingredients incl rye, barley + wheat. Unfiltered. Peel+reveal lable with the 'Story'.... Zzzzz.
440ml can BB: 16/03/2022 £4.90 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
