Citra has long been a favourite for a lot of hopheads for good reason. Its influence in this brew is instantly recognisable in the aroma, with big orange, Mandarin and tropical fruit notes in full force. To taste, expect those big citrus flavours to continue, with added passion fruit and mango notes coming from a hint of Centennial and Bravo hops to help the mass of Citra along the way.

nice low alcohol hazy modern pale ale here, very little bitterness, very little body despite the haze, a cool idea for a series of beers, and this is smart on a few different levels. its whitewashed mute yellow colored with a decent head from the tap, pearly white. the citra is obvious in the nose, soft lemongrass and lemon curd to it, but they were genius to add some other varietals in to support the citra, which i have long bemoaned as not that great as a single hop, the centennial and bravo are subtle, not even really appreciable on their own, but they make the citra far more long lasting and dynamic, with hints of melon, good weed, and drippy juicy orange. the grain base seems more wheaty than anything else but is quite minimal in flavor, just a little dry cereal thing to balance the hops, but the balance takes care of itself with the lightness, dryness, absence of bitterness, and clean ferment. maybe a little messy in terms of refinement, and maybe not their most distinctive beer, these guys do some downright absurdly ambitious stuff, but its a nice showcase of citra, plenty fresh in my experience with it, and really easy drinking. nice, but i liked the loral version even more!
