From a thick brown bottle, this beer is a dark brown color with a thin foamy tan head. The aroma has a lot of wood and dry malt notes. Dark dried fruit...dates and currants...and wine-like notes. The taste is vinous, with a malt undertone. I totally get the barrel aging, for the beer has a charred and aged quality. Medium body and warming. Nice.
