On tap at the Brewpub.
The appearance was a nice looking mostly dark brown color with an ever so slight transparency about it. Just a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head softly dissolving to leave some nice strings of lace.
The aroma had a very nice blend of soft sweet nuts, sweet coffee, caramel/toffee malts and a nice milk chocolate backbone. Sly roastiness and some dark bready/toast underneath.
The flavor had a very nice smooth sailing sweetness rolling over some roast and toast capturing the chocolate to the coffee and caramel malt features. Exceptionally smooth aftertaste of coffee to nuts to caramel to milk chocolate.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Sturdy ABV leads into a nice blend with an appropriate carbonation. Finish was very smooth with crisp sweet and roasty nuts, dark bread and milk chocolate.
Overall, a very nice brown ale well worthy of coming back to.
