Brewed in the Colonial tradition of Washington and Jefferson. Brewed with Canadian barley, English rye, American hops and a touch of molasses to create an authentic nod to beers of our forefathers.

is this a holdover brew from the old legends? i vaguely remember it from i think before this place existed, but i could easily be wrong. its a cool beer, super unconventional, and frankly way to unique to have come from an old strip mall brewery that used to be another strip mall brewery that used to be a sports bar i think, what an evolution! proof that good brewers can come from anywhere and can exist anywhere, i think that alone gives this as much value as the liquid itself. however, i like the liquid too! this one is deep red, not fully clear, and heady up top, with an aroma of wet hop dankness, sticky brown sugar, toasted dry nutty red malts, and peppery grain, rye in here for sure. i like that nothing is subtle but everything is balanced, i just feel like that is so rare in beer, its always big on big, or forced small, its never just naturally at an equilibrium like this, and i am thankful for it. malty sure, added sugar too, but from the cane, slow cooked, like a rum before its distilled or something, and with hops that speak of pine, orange, and thyme, oddly enough. its herbal and bright for a malty beer, has a curious early climax point, and a drawn out, mellow ending that neve really draws the curtain, like a joint with a long cherry that everyone has hit a few times and is still burning. its smart beer, probably better than it will every get credit for, and if they could dial in the fermentation just a little more, it would be a world class beer that doesnt neatly fit any style. every beer should aspire to that...
