A growler of this took a couple days to work through solely because of the faithfulness to the style. This brew is strong.
A muddy, hazy, singed glow emanates from this brew. Looks like brown sugar. Looks better than Brown Sugga ;-)
Smells like toffee, herbs, hops, malt, grains. Sweet and pleasing, though cutting. Is that the hops? I genuinely don't know.
Tastes like a friggin amazing beer, plus butterscotch. Heavy. Oozy, aged, dark fruits creep the perimeter. Totally nails every benchmark of an american strong while of course taking it in is own direction. Spicy and well-rounded finish.
Feels perfect. Weighty, yet dainty, jazzy carbonation. Smooth, sweet, bitter, sturdy. Every so slightly thin, but this is a matter of opinion. works despite this,
Where else can you find a strong ale just churned out straight to tap mid summer for the love of the beer drinker than Standard?
Hope this one comes back.
Brew on, drink on. Love
