Standard's brewpub has the vibe of a favorite neighborhood brewpub. Friendly crowd on a Saturday evening. A bit noisy, somewhere between library quiet and rock music loud. I wouldn't go here if you just want to read a book, but it's not at all unpleasant.
The 12 beer taps lean towards saisons, with a couple of IPAs. The beer quality is well above average, as is the limited food menu.
Overall, good beer and good food, limited selection in both. If I lived near here, I'd stop in often.

Visited early afternoon on a Saturday for a beer and lunch. Surprisingly quiet -- a couple individuals sitting at the bar chatting with staff, a couple sitting outside.
21+ according to the door. Serves food now, so I'll put in an update on the listing.
They had a selection of bottled sours from their "sister brewery" Sovereign (I have no idea how the two breweries may be related). They had 8-10 taps, I would guess, across a variety of styles. A couple IPAs, a couple traditional styles. I ended up having a BBA coffee stout which I thought was quite good.
Staff was friendly, didn't know the answers to some of my questions but went out of their way to text the brewer and get answers, which was unexpected and nice.
The place has definitely expanded from the time that I was there last -- there's fairly substantial outdoor seating, a smallish bar, and a number of indoor tables. Interior is dark, maybe a little close, but feels more intimate than cramped.
I've known about Standard for a fairly long time now, and I would say their beer is consistently good, and occasionally great. I don't remember ever having a beer from them that was disappointing.

been dying to come here since i first discovered these guys, have had a bunch of their saison types and always thought they were thoughtful, uniquely packaged, and well executed, so this was a bit of a pilgrimage, and the space is rad as heck. a patio area well shaded and kind of private despite being on a busy intersection. its modest inside, a small open kitchen, a handful of booths, walk up bar with a letter board menu, very much a cafe feel, i did not see any equipment but was told the beer was all made there. cool vibes, cooler than hipster, low key but intentional, was mellow but still vibrant when we were in. i was highly disappointed to learn that they moved the production of all the funky stuff over to their sister brewery called sovereign, also in the neighborhood, and had some of their bottled offerings, but the standard i fell in love with is now sovereign i believe. they had a great selection still, just all clean beers. i liked a hazy double ipa and a blended imperial stout in heaven hill barrels best, but nothing here was off. the beer was fun, relatively inspired, and well executed, but i miss the fermentation forward stuff, so we headed to sovereign after a couple of rounds. their food did look really good though, so i will be back for that next time. service was no really part of our experience, some bartender methodically got our beers and didnt say much, no issues, but it didnt add anything to the experience. this place is really cool, awesome patio for good weather, cozy interior to hunker down in for winter, and a wide selection of quality beer. worth the trip!
edit: been here a bunch of times now and like it more every time, the service was quite a lot warmer and friendlier and helpful this time, so improving that score a bit, and the food is great, finally got to try it, and they have a cool menu, small but smart, and its open late even on weeknights which i have a lot of love for, and wish we had more of in boise. real good catfish sandwich hit home for me, but the potato jojos are some of the best ive ever had, could go there just for those. the beer this time was killer too, the sovereign stuff in bottles here now, i believe that spot has closed, lots of lagers, an epic barrel aged winter warmer, and awesome vibes for this time of year, didnt miss their patio at all. this place is so underrated its crazy, unreal neighborhood brewery and pub, cannot recommend highly enough!

You will always find at least three hop-forward beers, at least two in the saison realm, and a few more on the darker side. 12 taps total and I've always been impressed. Their Pales and IPAs stand out and I'd argue are as good or better than anyone else in Washington (they won the 2016 WA IIIPA competition, beating Bale Breaker, Cloudburst, Aslan, and Fremont). Growler fills, tasters, and full-pours available.
The brewery space is a no-nonsense kind of place. As previously reviewed, it seems hand-built from the ground up with plenty of covered outdoor seating and some indoor. Dogs and Kids welcome. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and straight forward. Most days you'll be able to see the owner tinkering on some constant upgrades.
Not a big, commercial spot, but something smaller and built with meticulous care. Just like the beers.
Bonus. They make an incredible ginger beer, which is sometimes on tap or available in bottles to-go.

I visited Standard's brewery/taproom on Saturday and the place is pretty great. They used to just sell beer out the door but they've since created an enclosed space to enjoy pints and tasters as well as get your growler filled. The place has a very hand-hewn look, and I appreciate the DIY aesthetic. There's also plenty of covered outdoor seating (with overhead heaters for chilly days).
They had 12 taps on while I was there, including a guest cider. I had a couple of taster trays and most of the beer is pretty good, although their new Mosaic pale ale is pretty outstanding. I look forward to trying some more of their seasonal/rotating pales and IPAs in the future.
