Soft Power is a series of session pale ales that focus on heavy hopping and low bitterness. The grain bill of Pilsner, malted wheat and flaked wheat is designed to keep it soft and clean, while allowing the hops to sing. This batch is made entirely with Citra and leans heavily on the orange and tropical fruit notes. At 4.7%, the low alcohol allows you to indulge without paying for it. Come and get it!

Taken from notes on tap at Central Pizza just down the way from the brewery.
Incredibly crisp clear body, but swerving way into the lighter side of things. The hue was a good golden 'beer' colour, but the saturation was minimal and it just looked light and thin. Nice white fuzz deftly coated the top gathering slightly in the collar. Cascading curtains of lacing as I work my way through the glass.
From the moment it's set down in front of me there is a bright sweet citrus. Almost elements of floral and tropics as well, but it's sweet citrus through and through. Light and airy still.
Tongue is a little bit of a let down though. Bright citrus is still the primary driving force for sure, but there's also a decent amount of creamy grains sliding alongside before it all kind of fades into a dull earthy bitterness. The finish brings it back to a more pronounced light rind direction to carry through.
Smoothe and super easy to drink though. Soft is an apt descriptor. Light and workable. Citrus finish languidly lingers leaving its mark, but never crosses over into fierce or punishing realms.
Session, easy drinking, I could see this working well on a sunny afternoon. I think my dad might enjoy it.
