12oz can, Bruery tulip, canned 9/19/17
Yakima has an apple cider appearance, with its opaque yellow haze. There is a quickly dissipating white head that leaves us only a clingy ring after the pour.
Out of the gate it smells yeasty with hints of crusty bread and crisp apple.
This is a no frills fruit beer. The flavors are stark and crisp. Neutral yeast, light malt, faint green apple.
It's a light fizzy beer. Carbonation is high and there is a surprising metallic bitterness at the end.
They call is a graf, a cider and beer hybrid, on their website. I'd say that's accurate. It's a super dry cider mixed with a dry, medium-bitterness pale beer with no real hop flavor or aroma. It's interesting, but I would stick with one beverage or the other.
