I picked this beer up on my last road trip to Oklahoma. The beer says The Last Girl Scout, but Martin House changed it to Queen de Minthe; I prefer the latter. I am using a tulip glass and serving the beer at 46 degrees. The pour created a frothy, foamy, airy, two-fingered, dark brown head with fair retention. The somewhat quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is inky black with dark brown hues, charting at SRM 36, and mostly opaque. The beer's appearance is average; I would have liked to see a longer-lasting head.
The reminiscent aroma of Thin Mints wafts up in the air, teasing my senses. Smelling the beer, I notice bourbon, oak, chocolate, mint, brownies, toffee, caramel, coffee, char, earthiness, and light smokiness. The mint aroma makes it challenging to differentiate what is what. I tried several more times to detect anything else to no avail.
The mint might have a dominant presence, but it does, and it has this chemical component. The barrel aging is noticeable with bourbon, char, and oak flavors. The Malt backbone is firm with roasted malt notes, lightly toasted bread crust, molasses, toffee, and malty sweetness. I also pick up vanilla, chocolate, leather, and earthy flavors.
The mouthfeel is warming and chemesthesis with a long finish. The body is medium-plus and has medium-low carbonation.
I remember seeing this beer at the beer store in Dallas and thinking, "Oh, hell yes, Thin Mint Cookie Barrel Aged stout." The beer sat in my cellar and waited until today. I was still excited to sample The Last Girl Scout. The first nosing and the amount of menthol crammed in my nose made me rethink my excitement. I have had a few beers that had mint, and oftentimes, the mint was terrible. The mint in this beer is not awful; it is overpowering at times, making this a challenge for me to drink. I would have preferred more balance and harmony with the overall beer.

Brewed 1/28/24. Canned 8/15/24; drank 1/5/25 @ the Yarchives.

Black/brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.

Strong Thin Mint notes in the nose (chocolate & mint); faint booze heat emerged as the beer warmed.

Creamy medium mouthfeel; it got sticky on the lips over the course of the session.

Thin Mint flavors with a slightly astringent whiskey heat on the finish.

Just dunk a Thin Mint into whiskey if you want. It's not awful but I wouldn't recommend it.

Appearance: Very dark mahogany in color, all but black, with a moderate finely-beaded dark tan head. Thin, patchy lacing adorns the glass wall.

Aroma: Peppermint utterly dominates the aroma, though chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, wood, and sweet and spicy alcohol are also notable.

Taste: The taste begins with, as expected, a strong flavor of peppermint, though there are also what would otherwise be prominent vanilla, dark chocolate, brown sugar, whiskey and wood. All of these flavors are mere supporting players for the star, peppermint, though the chocolate notes are fairly robust. Later in the taste, roasted malt ascents, offsetting the peppermint somewhat The taste draws to a close with fading peppermint notes and a surge of bitter chocolate. The gentle warmth of the alcohol is felt late in the taste.

Mouth feel: Very soft and full, much like milk, with gentle carbonation.

Drinkabilty/notes: I must say that the proportion of flavors, except for the whiskey, of course, does approximate a thin mint. This is a remarkable brewing accomplishment, not to be dismissed. A worthy dessert beer that pairs well with thin mints.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Appearance: Very black, strong back light shows ruby edges, but gets swallowed deeper into the glass. Thin tan halo of foam gives up a few spots of lace.

Aroma: Strong mint, chocolate, and a whiff of whiskey. The mint is a little overpowering, in a good way.

Taste: Much like the nose, a little more chocolate, a hint of grain, but very much Girl Scout Thin Mint. A hint of bourbon barrel in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium heavy body, low carbonation, smooth texture, warm finish.

Overall: Another great beer from Martin House. Does what it says on the tin: Thin Mint Cookie. I'll look for more but I think I got the last 2 can pack.

The Last Girl Scout is a Whiskey barrel aged thin mint imperial stout. It is a bit too minty for me but otherwise an excellent stout

Look: jet black with a thick fluffy mocca colored head

Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, mint and whiskey

Flavor: roasted malts, chocolate, mint and whiskey. It is a tad boozy but not too much.

Body/Overall: nicely full bodied

12oz can served in a tulip. Brewed on April 23, 2021. Received as a retaliation from @WunderLlama in BIF #14.

Pours black with a small head. Smell is thin mint, pretty much straight up. Chocolate and mint. If I work at it, I think I can detect a little booze lurking underneath it.

Taste is a little more nuanced, but not a lot. Still thin mint, mostly, but I get a little vanilla and a little wood, some roasty characteristics and maybe a little coffee and definitely some booze.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly light and effervescent. Overall...I think this is a remarkably successful beer for what it is, I really enjoy it, but I'm not sure how many thin mints I could drink.

12oz can poured into a Spigelau stout glass

Two finger taupe foam cap over black motor oil, settles to a thin layer

Aroma is like an amped up Girl Scout thin mint cookie - minty and chocolatey, whiff of bourbon

Taste is very minty, chocolatey, bourbon whiskey without the burn

Low sudsing, semi dry finish, very minty

As advertised, tastes like a Girl Scout thin mint . Very minty, then chocolate, then whiskey . good beer but a one and done for me

Pour is jet black with a huge finger and half of light cinnamon head. Good retention.
Nose is a blast of peppermint, chocolate, vanilla
Taste follows. peppermint, chocolate, subtle hints of bourbon, vanilla. Finishes with a cooling peppermint.
Moderate body.
Nailed the 'girl scout thin mint' pretty well.
