Standing in a hop field brings forth a sense of solitude and wonder one can find in a forest. Hop Forest Double IPA provides full hop coverage with tremendous load of tropical and piney hop aromatics. Malt sweetness intertwines with the American hop varieties to create a balanced shade of flavor that invites one to sit down and enjoy the view.

Look: Nice carbonation, orange amber appearance. Not really cloudy but still fairly opaque.

Nose: Not as intense as some double IPAs, some clear citrus and evergreen overtones.

Taste: A lot going on here, some good evergreen flavored hops, fruits, some more maltiness than many pale ales. Maybe even some dried fruits? very flavorful.

Mouthfeel: Is it cliche to call this smooth? This is pretty light bodied but doesn't feel flat in any way. Legs hang on the glass signifying some level of proteins in the drink and you can feel the heartiness when to washes over the palate.

Overall: Had this in a glass with some roast beef. In hindsight not the best paring in the world, but this is a tasty brew worth trying.

Hazy deep golden amber colour, one finger of white head and some lace. Smell is a mix of sharp citrus, grapefruit and some sweet malt, tropical and to a lesser extent pine. Taste has lots of grapefruit and pine, some orange/tangerine, medium sweetness mid palate, fruity aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, medium bodied. Decent but not altogether memorable however.

Pours from the can a dark copper with a foamy white head that leaves lots of lace.
The aroma is pine, citrus, floral and spice.
Pine and citrus lead the taste parade with tropical fruit, some toffee and biscuit sweetness, a wonderful juicy middle and a pithy finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, sticky and chewy.
Outstanding.

Great IPA. Love the bright citrus flavors and the well rounded hops. It stands out past the sea of IPA's out there.

Got on trade! 12oz can served at 4deg C in a draught glass.

A- Opens well and pours a tiny 1" high white head that fims out within a minute or two. Medium gold colour and unfiltered.

S- Nice hops and sweetness. I do dare guess a double IPA

T- Yup! Traditional American double IPA. Heavy sweetness, hops and malt. Nice blend. Yes many things stick right out at you. Strong flavor presence

M- Sticky and thick. Traditional DIPA

O- Nice overall blend. Strong and up forward to say the least. Do like this style from time to time.

Food Pairing

This nice brew went well with........ BBQ Ribs. Low and slow. The glaze was honey garlic

Enjoy
