12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.
Stunningly clear, thin but sticky lacing. Fresh bready malt and herbal hop in a very clean aroma. Very drinkable and refreshing, crisp and somewhat fluffy. Very balanced with a firm hop bitterness and herbal flavor on top of a light biscuity bready tone. I'll say it again, if a brewery can pull of a lighter colored "lager" style brew then they know what is going and know how to do it right. Old Rail is doin it right. While this is perhaps not the "best" Helles I've run into it does hit all of the bells and whistles.

Served in shaker pint.
A: Crystal clear, brilliant yellow color with head that fades.
S: Very clean lager aroma. Malt character dominates with touch of malt sweetness. Some hop notes but malt seems to take over.
T: Grainy with nice malt sweetness. Flavors are clean and simple. Low hop character and bitterness. After taste is clean with easy malt profile lingering.
M: Clean with nice moderate carbonation. Finish is dry.
O: Very clean, light, and refreshing. No off flavors... Nicely done and to style.

Yellowish color, somewhat darker yellow, not much clarity, small white head. A bit sunnier color and more clarity would be good. Aroma is biscuity, crackers, light grass and floral notes hint earthy yeast. Low bitterness, cracker malts, biscuit, herbal hops, mild. Crisp, light bodied, pretty refreshing and quite drinkable.
Nothing off-putting, solid, quite refreshing.
