16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/23/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluff white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, red apple, peppercorn, citrus zest, wheat, white bread, herbal, floral, and grass; with light notes of pine, banana, clove, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice complexity and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, red apple, peppercorn, citrus zest, wheat, white bread, herbal, floral, and grass; with light notes of pine, banana, clove, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine/zesty bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, red apple, peppercorn, citrus zest, wheat, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, light banana/clove/pine, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an awesome saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. Awesome juicy, vibrant, light dank hops with balanced yeast complexity; solid bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. Outstanding Denali hop showcase. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
