This saison has all the hallmarks of our summertime blend of traditional Saccharomyces and "wild" Brettanomyces yeasts. Lots of pepper, fruit, and a dry spice finish with extra complexity from a multigrain malt bill featuring barley, wheat, rye, corn and oats. Mandarina and Mosaic hops add a juicy orange-pine character.

750 ml bottle, no dating on it that I notice but I think this was just released within the past couple weeks. Served in a Unibroue tulip, the beer pours a somewhat hazy golden/orange color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stuck around for a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like citrusy hops (orange, grapefruit), pine hops, peppery spice, melon and some bready malt. Luckily the flavors are stronger compared to the aroma. It tastes like citrusy (orange, citrus peel, grapefruit) hops, peppery spice, bready/grainy malt, grassiness, stone fruit and some earthiness. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit creamy and easy to drink with a good amount of soft carbonation. I thought this was an enjoyable, refreshing saison. Seventh Son is one of my favorite local breweries, and I like to try anything new from them that I find. $10.99 a bottle.
