A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a copper/amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of sweet berries. Taste is the same as the aroma, light lemons, refreshing. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

L- clean orange tinted amber color free of sediment.
S- very sweet fruity aroma.
T- very strong blackberry taste, true to name. Slightly less sweet than I expected based on the smell.
F- crisp acidic bite on the front end with a smooth finish.

Overall- Somewhere between dark and light, I like this beer for the cooler nights on either side of summer.

Beer pours a hazy blood orange color with a white head. The smell is berry and completely masks the beer smell. The flavor is sweet blackberry. A little more carbonated than I like but a great summer beer when it's hot out.

12 on draft in a Pilsner type thing at Sam Diego’s in Plymouth, Mass.

Appearance: Clear amber, minimal head.

Aroma: Hmrph. Kind of a blueberry candy type thing happening here. Bob Dole doesn’t know about this.

Taste: Uh. Yeah. This isn’t for Carl Carlson. It’s a kind of cloying, candyish fruit/lemonade kind of thing. It’s just too sweet and artificial tasting. Tastes like if Turkey Hill Oloong Tea was a beer.

Mouthfeel: Very light, as expected.

Overall: I don’t hate shandys, nor am I prejudiced against them. A good shandy on a hot day is one of life’s pleasures. But, alas, this is not a good shandy (nor, to be fair, is it a hot day). I’ll be sticking with cheap lager and cheaper lemonade when I want a shandy.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass

L: Hazy golden pink pour. 2 fingers of white head... solid lacing.

S: Blackberries... fruit and sweetness. Jam.

T/F: Follows the nose. Light grains... sweet blackberry and summer fruits. No real tartness. Mild citrus. Light bodied.

O: Simple, somewhat sweet, and easy drinking. Delivers the blackberry as advertised. Not really my thing, but on a hot summer day it might do the trick.

Had this on tap in a local tavern, served in a pint glass. Nice color and aroma, paired nicely with food and lively conversation. Found 12 pack 12 oz cans at a beer store chain.
Nice color in glass, slightly hazy, rosy peach color. No aroma to notice, but I may be stuffed up. Beautiful creamy head poured into pint glass. First one seemed sweeter and more balanced than second. Nearing end of 2nd can, flavor is slightly tart and acidic, with a very tart berry flavor finish.

Hmm. How curious. It has been added, but not rated nor reviewed, plus it does not have an approved picture. The CANQuest (tm) to the rescue on all counts! I live for these kinds of moments.

From the CAN: "Quite a Refresher!"; "Wheat Ale brewed with Lemon Peel with Blackberry Juice and natural flavors added".

I Crack!ed the CAN open & since it was a wheat-based ale, I felt no CANpunction about CANducting an inverted Glug. This was actually kind of fun as it came pouring out of the CAN slowly at first & then, having gotten some steam, it took off to the point that I had to pull it out. This allowed it the breathing room to form just under three fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, light-tan head with modest retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a pronounced berry smell & while I CANnot say that I would have guessed blackberry, it was definitely of the raspberry/blackberry school of smell. Mouthfeel was kind of thin & watery as these Shandys often tend to be. The taste was not as sweet as I had girded myself for, but it was definitely NOT raspberry. I might have guessed blueberry, boysenberry or blackberry if I did not already know the correct answer. Finish was semi-sweet, but it was still pretty refreshing, which is the ultimate goal in a Shandy/Radler. I was good with one, but YMMV.
