22oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours jet black in color with a thin foamy khaki colored head with decent retention

S- aromas are faint overall; roasted malt, milk chocolate, a hint of apple brandy, but wouldn't be able to pick it out unless I was looking for it

T- milky sweetness up front mixes with milk chocolate and light roast. Mid-palate tastes of green apple taffy-taffy, along with some caramel & light brandy. The finish is sweet, with a clean linger

M- medium-thick body with low carbonation leads to a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a viscous finish

O- had trouble picking up the barrel character throughout, it's good but would like more barrel

Jet black, poured with tannish-brown head. Medium nose, deep roasted malt with some wood character. Creamy, milky chocolate taste, well-balanced, no noticeable EtOH. Needs a bit more BA character.

After four days in the squealer:

Sable silk with a ring of scarlet on top.
Chocolate covered apples, dark sweet grapes, maybe even a little cherry.
I'd put this a notch below Trickery. The apple brandy barrels are a bit more protuberant on the Trickery, but then again this is about 4% less ABV. AB Great Debate definitely hides the alcohol better. A pleasant sweetness from the apple brandy compliments the milk stout well. Not super hot. An apple cider flavor starts to kick in after a few sips. Even a touch of espresso.
Smooth finish, some light smoke. Moderate body. Trickery was definitely thicker. I am thinking this lost some carbonation in the squealer over four days and one might expect more tingle.
Tons of bourbon stouts out there, so I am always looking forward to trying a stout aged in another type of barrel. This is plenty of jollification.
