I don't know if I've had too many good IPAs lately, but this beer wasn't very good. Not that bitter taste I was looking for.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.
A: The beer is a dark brown color, with a large off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick but spotty lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, earthy hops and some citrus.
T: The taste starts out bitter with a strong burst of earthy hops. Then some mild sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel and a bit of citrus. The malt character is hearty and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bitter and slightly bready.
M: Crisp but not very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, it’s a bit different than most beer in the style, but it’s certainly not better than most.

Very good IPA! Not all IPA's need to be compared with the "hop kings" out there. This is a very solid IPA, that might appeal to the less avid beer drinker as well as the experts (as long as they aren't looking for yet another heady topper clone as their basis of comparison)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
