The second in our Smoothie Shop series, this 6.4% milkshake IPA is all Simcoe, so you can expect an apricot/peach flavor with some earthy notes.. and of course, an infusion of vanilla bean for that perfect peaches n’cream combo!

Out of all of the IPA variants out there this style is my least favorite. This beer is Simcoe hop variant and a Milkshake IPA, makes me pause for a moment. The beer is 40 degrees warming up to 44 to 46 before consumption. The pour of the beer produced a one-finger bright white creamy and airy head. The retention of the head is fair and left no lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 4 straw yellow with golden hues. The clarity of the beer is cloudy. The appearance of the beer is sub-standard.
The aromas in the beer are milk, grapefruit, resin, pine, herbal, cut grass, vanilla, toasted malts, malty sweetness, lemon, and a hint of earthiness.
The flavors in the beer are vanilla, grapefruit, resin, pine herbal, milk, creamy toasted malts, hints of caramel, lemon, grassy, and earthiness.
The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent, coating, and carbonated.
The body of the beer is medium, medium-plus carbonation, and a full finish.
This beer has this slick mouthfeel that blends into chemical vanilla. The flavors of the Simcoe hops are prolific with a strong malt backbone. This beer without the variant would be a great IPA.
