Had a pint while playing poker 8-29-22, courtesy of a friend who likes his adjunct brews. This one comes across as if the base brew was not very good and then to add Watermelon further detracts from this brew. Would have been a drain pour BUT i did not buy it. I should try to hunt down Deep River's base lager and see how that is.

Let me not dance around it: this beer tastes like a heap of hot garbage. I have three more of these in the four tall boy pack I bought and the fact that any of it is in my fridge makes me want to cry.
Look: I was so excited when I bought this beer, I thought it would taste refreshing and summery
Smell: Arguably worse than the taste, reminiscent of a dead rodent sprayed with febreeze.

From a can at the Burning Can Festival (NC)
A mild lager with conservative (flavor-wise) use of watermelon yet impressive. Clean and refreshing with a surprisingly dry finish. Lots of pale malt flavor.

16oz can poured into a pint
Pours a clear straw color with a small fizzy white head that disappears after sticking around a while. Smells of fermented watermelon, grains & hay. Tastes of grains, toasted malt and light watermelon juice. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation and a crisp finish. Pretty simple and straight forward, goes down easy on the beach though

Pours a hazy gold. Normal head volume, poor retention and lacing.
Very light nose of watermelon.
Light medium body with a smooth texture. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent burst in the middle and a rollicking finely bubbled finish.
The flavor profile is good. It lacks intensity and complexity, but is well balanced. It begins with a weak watermelon flavor that intensifies by the middle, but never really comes on strong. Since no other flavors are present, that leaves little for this beer to build on. Sweetness is also weak. The finish is a bit dry and a weak watermelon flavor lingers.
