The Ruck is a medium bodied ESB which is pretty much the universal drink of a Rugby player (other than water). A portion of your purchase of this beer will go to the local Clayton Bootleggers Rugby Team.

A: Pours a clear medium copper-ish amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation and faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a four finger tall dense foamy beige head that very slowly reduces to a couple of medium to large sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a thin film covering then majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of biscuit malts with light notes of caramel and toffee as well as some light earthy + herbal hops.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of biscuit malts with a light amount of toffee + caramel malt sweetness. There is a light flavor of light fruit (green apple) yeast and a light flavor of earthy + herbal hops. Hints of black tea and nuttiness towards the finish. Light amounts of bitterness is present in the finish but fades away pretty quickly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate to slightly stronger than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly dry in the finish.
O: Slightly more carbonated than I expected for the style, but I guess that I have mostly had it on cask rather than from a can. Nice flavors and aromas as well as being pretty easy to drink and enjoy.

Pours into an imperial nonic a clear rich bronze with a clingy half finger slight off white head atop.Rich caramel and toffee in the nose along with some yeasty ester and light leafy/herbal hops.Big caramel toffee upfront on the palate with some nuttiness detected along with some tea-like hops in the finish. The yeast component is quite large with this beer wich you don't see too often in the style, not bad.

Pours a pretty reddened amber color covered by a solid head of off-white creaminess. Warm, biscuity malt smells blend smoothly with some leafy earth. Flavor continues with the tasty doughy malt sweetness, pecans, black tea, and grass. Medium bodied, drying out to a nutty finish. Pretty solid beer - might get a bit sweet after a couple.
