750ml bottle into a snifter

Dark brown pour with an appropriate head.aroma of sour cherries and slight bourbon. Taste is phenomenal. Dark tart cherries and chocolate at first. Slight sour. Vanilla. Very faintly bourbon but the sour notes mute the bourbon. So tasty. My favorite dark sour to date.

Must be a riff on Loak - somehow a related recipe. Shares a lot of the same chocolatey / fig notes, pastoral funk, but with more barrel oak / vanilla ... not certain if this saw time in bourbon and / or red wine, but the dark flavors combined with wood make it reminiscent of both. A fantastic beer.

Reminds me of a more sour, oak barrel version of their Loak. Fantastic beer.

Opens up with bourbon and chocolate. Fainter tart cherry notes. Quite sour but a light sweetness in the finish comes out as it warms.
