Was looking for something light and something a bit different and I remembered I had this. This bottle is back from the tbtoo beer order package. Decided to bust out the ceramic stein and went to town.
Tartness made itself known as soon as the pop. Closer inspection reveals a welcoming candy soundness. First sips put a snile.to.ky face...precisely what I was looking for. Refreshing salty and sour Berliner. DeGarde can sometimes be a bit too slur for me and I was worried from other reviews that taking this on myself.might be a mistake but not at all. Sour, yes...but with refreshment.

Bomber poured into a tulip appears crystal clear copper with off-white cap a finger strong.
Thevaroma is lemony, vinegar and oaked with carbonics and stanky cheese.
It tastes of vinegar, blue cheese, lemon rinds and earthy oak.
This is light in body with modest carbonation. Its pretty sour but not offensively so like many degarde sours are. This is actually some pretty good stuff.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a golden yellow with good carbonation. Nose is sour funk. Lemon, orange, earthy, sweet, vanilla, and a bit of toffee. Maybe a hint of cherry. Taste is SOUR. Much more than I expected. Mouth puckering. Super sour and some sweetness on the back end. Definitely some nice citrus as well - mostly lemon and orange. Maybe some crab apple. Really amazing. Feel is great. Overall, this is a fantastic beer.

Poured into a Sierra Nevada Spiegelau glass. No freshness date.
A- Pours a medium amber color with a 3/4 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a paper-thin ring around the edge of the glass and nearly no surface foam. No lacing to speak of.
S- Bright lemony nose of lactic acid and a bit of Brett funk.
T- Very sour with more lemon character and a touch of sweetness. Yeah, basically like a lemon Warhead. The sourness isn't unmanageable though as it doesn't linger on the palate too long. Not as much funk as in the nose.
M- Medium-high pucker with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Pretty good. I am admittedly not a fan of the super sour beers but this one has enough structure and restraint that it doesn't become too one-note.
