good heavens this is amazing, and to find it on draft in pendleton oregon of all places, what a treat. great pacific for the win, lots of killer bottles here too! i could swear this has white wine grapes in it, like it seems like it almost has to, so fruity, juicy, almost even sauvignon blanc specific, so much so that i almost wonder if i got a variant of this or something, if one exists. it could be from hops, even aged hops, its tough saying, really fruity and unique though, and of course it has that world class funky ferment we all love so much in their beers, a great and mature expression of it here, being in the oak for a year and a half. pretty pour too, real delicate looking just a soft honey color in the glass, not quite clear but with an elegant backlit look to it and an inch of lasting creamy white head, fully effervescent. aroma and flavor line right up, mature oaky funk, their own specific bretty weirdness, mature but fresh at the same time, seemingly kind of hoppy, kiwi and green gooseberry and cut flowers and white wine, wildly vinous to me, subtle vanilla, tangerine essence, and lemongrass too, herbal and lush and luscious. so much oak too, but it never makes this heavy, it just highlights the unique ferment, which rules, and its positively bone dry. de garde always hits for me, like they are just so good at what they do, a lot of it is gold standard level, and this one is too, just an easy drinker, not too acidic at all, refreshing and renewing and even healthy, vibrant on the palate, complex as they come, really old but also brand new, neat and unexpectedly fruity, an amazing score in the wild!

Thanks, Chris!
Light straw terror with a dense, white head with great retention and lacing. The nose is a great blend of lactic acid, lemon, delicate straw funk, light melon notes and a blend of green grape and light gooseberry. The palate opens with a yogurt tartness, lactic, creamy and complemented by a key lime note. Semi ripe grapes, straw and some wet hay funk are present. Drying, tart and snappy on the finish. Light, crisp, refreshing, this reminds me of Saison Desay
