A 1 pint 9.4 fl. oz. corked and capped bottle, bottled in April 2021. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.

Appearance: A nice clear golden colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a ring around the glass, while leaving some lacing.

Aroma: Tart, funk, apple peel, green apple, apple cider.

Taste: Tart, sour, apple peel, apple cider, lemon juice, with light oak and pineapple notes.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: The aroma was what I was expecting, but the taste didn’t quite reflect in the same way. I thought the lemony sourness overpowered the cider a bit and the nice funkiness that I got in the aroma wasn’t very noticeable.

Cloudy golden body, nice cider vinegar bite mixed in with the base acidity. Interestingly, the apple also adds a bit of non-acetone sweetness to blunt the overall acidity, making for a nice, though somewhat one-note drinker. Lighter medium body and carb.

Bottle. Thanks, Sam.

A clear golden yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is a gorgeous blend of cider and funk. Tart green apples, mildly granny Smith like, mild vanillin, a little cider-like brightness. Juicy, sweet and tart with a blend of malic acid, a lovely red apple skin note. The palate opens focused on the tart, cider apple flavors, with a clean, bright, short-lived acidity that opens up the tastebuds to the other flavors present. Bitter lemon, a mild earthy, mushroomy funk, mild oak. Tannins, a blend of apple skin and oak, are present. Drying, cider-like on the finish with the grain and malt adding structure. Moderately carbonated, refreshing, lingering acidity. Yum.
