A spontaneous dark ale aged in oak bourbon and rye barrels for two years, then finished in ex-maple syrup bourbon barrels. Bottled nearly still.

Pour at de Garde 10th Anniversary. Dark brown pour, near flat. All in all, this comes across as a sour imperial stout, if there is such a thing. Dark malts with notes of chocolate, and then some barleywine aspects as well, leathery, tannic. Light fruity flavors too, all with a nice medium tartness. Very different from the rest of the lineup.

Bottle.
Ridiculously good and rich with dark fruit, soft funk, warming bourbon and rye, licorice and an added accent of maple syrup, fragrant and noticeable on the nose, but well integrated on the palate. Rich, beautiful beer
