22oz bottle. Going into this without knowing what style beer it is.
Poured a bit hard to build some head which then cascaded heavily like a nitro beer. Nose has notes of oxidation, as well as cherry and dark tanned leather. Smells like an aged English barleywine or strong ale.
Palate is a bit thin and is too dry. The dryness snaps back a lot of the flavor. Ideally there'd be more viscosity here. Flavors are commensurate with an aged strong ale but then some roasted notes crept in as it warmed. Maybe an English-style strong porter?
All in all, there's good flavor here but the mouthfeel takes me out of the experience.
