The lightest of our offerings, Recruit is clean, crisp, and refreshing American Golden Ale with just enough bitterness to balance out the sweetness from the malts. Finishes with a spicy noble hop character.

16 oz can from HalfTime. Yellow pour, initial big foamy head eventually fades down to thin coat. Bready aroma with a touch of lemon. Taste is light and sweet, more light lemon. Finishes clean.

From the 16 oz. can dated 03/22/2018. Sampled on July 20, 2018.

It pours a cloudy looking pale yellow with a modest white foamy head. Semi-opaque.

The aroma begins with a grainy sweetness but maybe because this is over three months old there is a sort of buttery, vegetable mash undercurrent which puts me off. A touch of orange peel.

Medium body.

I get the same sort of buttery, vegetable mash character in the taste but it has a little sweetness and a mild citrus or fruity bite to it. Clean finish. I need a fresher one next time.

16 oz. can dated 05/02/17

Pours foggy hazy yellow gold with a frothy white foam head. Smells like green apples, pear, lemon rind, orange citrus, malty golden grains, some spice, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like bread crust, crackery malt, golden grains, lemon rind, orange citrus, green apples, pear, spice, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels light bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate crisp carbonation. Overall a nice golden ale.

Poured a light golden yellow color in a Mikasa tulip with a two finger head.

Aroma:Mango, citrus, earthy.

Taste: citrus, mango. Pineapple with warming. A bit overshadowed by the bitterness. Warming brings out the taste.

Crisp, bitter, dry finish.

Excellent Ale with a lot of character.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a clear yellow color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off immediately. Light speckled lace. The aroma had some sweet corn, light lemon, some grassy hops and some biscuits. The flavor took the previously mentioned aromas to blend fairly nice. Grassiness seemed a bit drying but the maltiness seemed to bring about a slight dampness to it. No aftertaste but finished with the grassy hop bitterness (still very low key-ed). The palate was light bodied and sessionable. Carbonation felt fine running along my tongue. This one was pretty smooth rolling all along my tongue. Overall, pretty nice blonde ale to me. Wouldn’t mind more cans for fishing this Summer.
