On tap at the brewery.
The appearance was a nice mostly dark brown color with a small shy off white foamy cap of a head. This quickly fell off and didn't leave any lace.
The aroma had a superb blend of maple syrup sweet and smoky character rolling into traditional English brown ale aspects of roasty nuts, toast, milk chocolate and sweet earthy to sly wafer-like qualities.
The flavor mixes the varieties of sweet qualities, the maple, roast, toast, nuts, milk and earthy characters all coming together very nicely. Nice maple sweet and semi-smoky aftertaste with some nuts, roast, toast and wafer.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionable feel to it. Nice low-key carbonation and ABV. Semi-crisp smooth nutty and roasty earthy finish.
Overall, what a damn nice English brown ale with a little bit of Vermont in it.
