Bottle to English pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color. A nice eggshell white to almost tan foamy finger's worth of head falls off stealthily. Subtle messy lace sticking to the glass.
The aroma had a smooth cherishing sweet milk chocolatey maltiness flowing into some lactose/milky creaminess. Some dark chocolate/toast/toffee/wafer sort of backing.
The flavor seemed to lean into a mild blend of sweet to mild toasty and bitter underscored blissful toffee to vanilla to coffee and dark chocolate -like qualities. Really comes together superbly. Damn nice aftertaste composing of coffee, toffee, wafer, milky chocolatey character, some dark chocolate and a slight roast.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a nice in between sort of sessionable to sipping quality about it. I didn't gulp but might have been able to. Good carbonation. Good ABV. Semi-sticky finish with some roast but not burdensome.
Overall, really nice well balanced English milk/sweet stout. Definitely a dessert beer.

375 ml. bottle.
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch tan head over a dark brown, near black body, with scant lacing. Nose of dark roasted malt, chocolate, malted milk, and hops. Taste mirrors nose nicely, very smooth, with a great mouthfeel. Overall, a real nice example of the proper use of lactose. I'm diggin' this beer! Cheers to Dan S. and the crew in Saint Albans, VT!
