L- The beer pours a slightly hazy brown with a two finger off white head. The head recedes to a central island and ring. Lacing is spotty.
S-The nose is mostly earthy. Some malt sweetness intertwines with peat and a bit of dark fruit.
T-The palate mimics the nose with the sweetness cut by an earthiness which balances the beer nicely. At nearly 9% the alcohol is hidden expertly.
F-Mouthfeel is a solid medium. There is a subtle slickness. Carbonation is on the lighter side of medium. The excellent balance and hidden alcohol make this one dangerously drinkable.
O- An enjoyable wee heavy. Worth a purchase if you see it an enjoy the style. Recommended.

Can. reddish amber with ring. Woody herbal fruity caramel aroma and medium-heavy sweetness. Medium woody herbal bitterness in tight finish. Full body with nice internal carbo. Excellent. Totally avoids the syrupy mess that a lot of American scotch ales turn into.

Treated as a Scotch ale/wee heavy, this was poured into a thistle.
The appearance was a semi-dark ruby amber/brown murky color with just a wisp of a little creamy white foamy head. Sustained for a little bit and slid off nicely to coat my glass with some lace trying to spider web but showing some messiness.
The aroma had a sweet meshing of applewood, the sweet side of the peat, subtle sweet nutty almost peanut-like with some thick herbal character and then some earthy to grassy tones.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness surrounding the entirety of the prior mentioned aromas. Sweet woody/peanut tones really come in with more warmth. Sticky peanut to applewoody aftertaste with some mild herbal/peat character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied. Fair sessionability with a good somewhat low carbonation. Good ABV. Nice smooth nutty/peanut/woody to semi-herbal finish.
Overall, I think I liked this more for me because I'm not so sure about that peanut thing going on, that's not really a part of this style but somehow it seemed to still be a nice addition anyways.
